Ephesians 4:1-16 (specifically verse 16)

When I grow and fulfill the calling on my life, the rest of the body grows. Just the opposite is true, as well. When I don’t “lead a life worthy of my calling (v1)” others around me find it harder to grow. That’s why it is so painful to be an isolated, unconnected follower of Christ. We all need brothers and sisters around us encouraging us and keeping us accountable. Just like with our own bodies, when one part is hurting, the whole body feels the effect. It then tries to nurture and heal the wounded area. We are the body of Christ – we need each other.
