The Nicene creed states that we believe IN one holy catholic apostolic church. Protestants shy away from that and actually use the Latin which takes out the "in" mainly because they say that the Church shouldn’t be worshipped because it isn’t God. Orthodox Christians would argue that since the Church IS the Body of Christ in the same way that God became human (and we do worship Jesus, even as a human), that we should give honor to the Church, as well.

Protestants will hold up the Bible as the primary source of truth, but scripture itself describes the Church as the pillar of truth (1 Tim 3:15) and the fullness of God (Eph 1:23). The Bible is not to be worshipped or placed above the Church.

Carlton again clarifies that there is no middle ground. You are either a part of THE Church by belonging to the Orthodox Church or you are not Orthodox and are therefore not a part of the Body of Christ.
