Orthodox Christians have been involved in the World Council of Churches but not to dialogue about finding a middle ground. They are there simply to ‘be light’ to others in hopes of them joining the one, true church of Orthodoxy. They have found that it has produced little fruit and, in some circumstances, caused more confusion and division. Most leaders, including the author, would not recommend further efforts through this avenue.
The would say that unity doesn’t come because of different churches coming together, but rather is found in the unity of Christ, which is found in the Orthodox church.
